We did it...

The eg pink panthers completed the 2010 London Triathlon in a heart pumping time of 3 hours and 30 minutes. It was a tough day, much warmer than we'd expected, but luckily we didn't have to put up with any rain (although this wouldn't have phased Jonathan much).

Here are a few photo's taken on the day and we plan to upload some more shortly.

We'd like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has pledged money so far. We are really pleased to have hit our target, and of course, if you'd still like to make a donation, the lines are still open… :) You can still pledge by clicking here, it only takes a few seconds.

Any pledgers can make payment in cash to Jonathan, Mark or John, or online (via the link in your confirmation email). Reminder emails will be sent out in a couple of days.

We'd also like to thank, eg solutions, for agreeing to fund the (considerable!) entry costs, without which we would not have reached the start line, and for all the support raising awareness.

Finally, it would be wrong not to mention our colleague Chris who, as one of the original team, had a bad accident whilst training. Glad you are all mended and back in the saddle!

So, who fancies a go in 2011 then?... :-)

Jonathan, Mark & John

Doornkop Needy Children's Centre...

All the money raised goes directly to the Doornkop Needy Childrens Centre (DNCC). The Centre, situated in Snakepark, a poverty-stricken area of Soweto, was started in August 2002 by two concerned mothers who were aware of the fact that many children – some abused, some abandoned, but most just plain poor – desperately needed some sort of crèche facility and care. They approached the community, secured permission to use a church gathering point and now look after 160 children.

The aim of the DNCC is to provide shelter, clothing, education and love to those orphans and destitute children from the age of 0 – 5 years.

The money raised is vital for the future of the children and their survival and eg are proud to be sponsoring the team.

£5It costs less than £5 per month to feed a child at Doornkop.

£40£40 will feed a child for a year with a nutrional supply of e-pap.

£125Around £125 can provide one child’s food, clothing and school fees for a year.
