All the money raised goes directly to the Doornkop Needy Childrens Centre (DNCC). The Centre, situated in Snakepark, a poverty-stricken area of Soweto, was started in August 2002 by two concerned mothers who were aware of the fact that many children – some abused, some abandoned, but most just plain poor – desperately needed some sort of crèche facility and care. They approached the community, secured permission to use a church gathering point and now look after 160 children.
The aim of the DNCC is to provide shelter, clothing, education and love to those orphans and destitute children from the age of 0 – 5 years.
The money raised is vital for the future of the children and their survival and
eg are proud to be sponsoring the team.
It costs less than £5 per month to feed a child at Doornkop.
£40 will feed a child for a year with a nutrional supply of e-pap.
Around £125 can provide one child’s food, clothing and school fees for a year.
